How to Prevent Acne While Exercising

There is no doubt that exercise has a lot of beneficial effect on acne prevention. This is because exercise is good for the skin as it keeps the skin healthy and removes dangerous waste form the body. It is also a good means of reducing the body’s stress level. At the same time, the type of make-up or clothes that someone puts on during the exercise matter in preventing acne.

Firstly, one important thing to consider in choosing what to wear or the type of equipment to use for exercise is friction. Some wearable kinds of equipment like helmet or wetsuit can cause acne if not properly used. Some helmets slide about on the head and do not give a good fit on the head. However, this can be avoided by just lining the helmet with soft fabric like a t-shirt. For exercise involving wetsuit, it is advisable that it does not get too tight on any part of the body so as not to create friction that can lead to acne. Friction can also be induced by using gym equipment in an improper manner. Seeing that friction is the major problem in using most of these exercising equipment, then it is better if someone can go for exercise that does not involve some of these equipment.

More so, another important thing to be careful with is moisture. There is virtually no exercise that does not involve sweating and if this is not properly managed after the exercise it can open the door for acne. Any type of exercise you are involved in, may be football, rowing, athletics, tennis etc you need to take care of your body immediately after the exercise possibly by having a little shower. Some people are used to wiping only their head and face after the exercise with a towel but this is not good enough because all other part of their body will still contain sweat which if not properly cleaned can lead to acne. The skin can also get irritated by the towel which is not good for the skin texture.

To prevent acne also require immediate showering after the exercise. In fact there is no point in waiting till all the sweat are dried up before bathing as this can worsen the case. All you need to get is a good cleanser or possibly a medicated soap. One other thing to note is that it is not good to get too hard on your skin by scrubbing, just scrub the skin gently so as to avoid the outbreak of any other infection. In case you are in a place where getting a shower immediately is difficult, then you can get a clean towel and some medicated pads to clean your body immediately.

Finally, it is so clear that exercise has a lot of beneficial effect on the healthiness of the skin. It is therefore advisable to maintain a good exercising habit always, just be careful for some factors that can lead to irritation and possibly acne.
